Waking up to coffee

I love how when I wake up and can not find anything to eat for breakfast, I resort to coffee. Oh, but it is so good!

Little Funny Things….

June 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Here’s a funny little thing: When I take a trip to the beach, I absolutely hate it. I can hardly stand the way the wind blows sticky wet sand into my tangled hair so that I can no longer see!! But here’s the funny little thing….If I am away from the beach for long periods of time, I find myself thinking about it all day long becuase I miss the windiness, stickiness, wetness and also the sandiness.

Here’s another funny little thing: If I sit around all day long, all I want to do is sit around all day long some more. Although, if I am active all day long, all I want to do is be even more active for the rest of the day=)

-If you have any funny little things you would like to share…feel free.

My Time with Nature….

March 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This morning I got up and ready for school and was preparing myself for the day. I was really hungry, so I decided to make some delicious toast. But just as I was going to put it inside the toaster my little sister yelled at me in rather loud tones telling me not to eat the bread because it was moldy. I took her advice and also decided to take the rest of the loaf of bread and feed it to the fish. As I walked outside I was caught in a bed of clouds that was to thick to see through.  I eventually made it through to the pond and starting throwing bread for the fish to eat. Right away they devoured the bread, and also I got to see another wonderful thing. Two beautiful little ducks waddled their way over to get some bread too so of course I gave them some as well. They stayed around for a little while wanting more bread but I decided to leave rather slowly so I wouldn’t be attacked. It doesn’t get much better than feeding fish and ducks bread at seven in the morning.

So Sleepy…

February 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I am always awake! Always! I am so sleepy all the time but my eyes can not seem to rest, this disturbs me emmensely…now, there is a huge difference between being tired and wanting sleep. Just because someone is tired does not mean that they want sleep, like me for instance…I may be sleepy and tired all at once. Like I am tired of the way that my hair grows, so I cut it in a way that it will grow another way. Or like I am tired of seeing a certain person everyday(just an example) but that does not make me sleepy to see them. What I’m saying is that there is a difference between these two words. If your sleepy say that your sleepy instead of saying your tired because if you use ‘tired’ that could mean a variant of things. What are you tired of? Just tell instead of beating around that bush with ‘I am tired’.

Invention….

January 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago  Judah, Noelle, Samuel and me went to the theater to see a movie. We were excited and went quickly in to find our seats. We sat down and the lights started to dim for the show. The previews began and people laughed at the oncoming films. Then suddenly without warning the screen started to fuzz. We just sat in our seats and everyone moaned thinking of the money they wasted. Then the screen began to blink as well and deform. Right about then the lights came on and a theater girl announced the problem and that everyone could see another movie if they wanted. So everyone got up  and made their way to the concession stand and to another film. All the while we already knew which movie we were going to see although we had to wait quite awhile before it started.

As we walked out of the theater room Judah told us about his idea. He told us of how much money he would make if he made an easier film to work with. Maybe on a computer so if something went wrong it would be easy to fix.  Or if the film stopped for some reason it could easily be picked up in the same place. Someone suggested the idea that this work could already be in progress, which may very well be true. I’m sure we aren’t the first ones to come up with this idea.  But maybe we could try to make the idea come true or find some research on it atleast. I don’t understand how man braggs on his technology but doesn’t have enough to already do such.  But that would be a great invention. Probably not the most necessary but convenient.

The enthusiasm that came with the idea was surprising. Judah is very brilliant and smart and can really do anything he puts his mind to, so I can’t wait for the real decision on this. It would be incredibly fun and pretty hard since I don’t know much of anything about that stuff. Also time and money would be important in this case for an invention like this. My main reason for doing a project like that would probably be the company. It would be something that we would all be working on together. Everyone would want to get in on it, and not just for money. But for something that would help Judah do something that he would want to do. Inventions are dreams and you can’t fulfill your dreams without a little help.

Sense and Sensibility

December 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

“Sense and Sensibility” is my all time favorite movie. I think that all of Jane Austen’s classics are the best. She has the best books and movies. They are the best to me because they are stories about sisters or women that I can relate to.  So far “Sense and Sensibility” has caught my interest the most. It’s just a movie that I could watch over and over again and still cry each time.  This movie is probably my favorite because it tells a story focusing on a family of women. The main women being the two oldest sisters. These sisters go through hard times with family, love and just life in general. These reasons are the ones that made me truly love this movie.

I suppose this movie affects me in the way that it lets me see the importance of relationships. It shows me how much alike my relationship with my sister is to the sisters in the movie. Also how very different our relationship is compared to theirs. There are so many things that touch me throughout this movie. I love the end most of all. I love how one sister got what she wanted and how the other sister got what she didn’t expect. Everything turned out beautiful for everyone and in a beautiful way. But the most I learned from this movie was that you may want one thing but get something else entirely opposite that is far better than what you expected. So don’t plan your own happy ending. Just let God plan it for you.

The Oven Timer

December 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Oh, that timer!

It yells so loud,

It makes that terrible noise,

That noise that fills my head.

While I’m sleeping,

While I’m dreaming,

While I’m waking,

While I’m thinking.

The Timer! oh that Timer!

The Timer, oh that oven Timer.

Thanksgiving Day!

November 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today I woke up earlier than usual and got ready for a great day. My mom had been making cinnamon rolls and I could smell them. I was so happy that this day had come because I love Thanksgiving. After I ate cinnamon rolls I started getting the dinner table all set up for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a fun experience being told how to set each place perfectly while trying to shove as many place settings that we could onto our dinning room table. But the best part of setting the plates on the table was imagining all the food that would fill them. Also all the hungry hands that would inevitably leave great messes on the fine tablecloth. Then finally the food did fill the table, and everyone sat down. Although, we ended up starting the meal without my oldest brothers because they seemed to disappear. But when they came they got enough to eat.

My mom tried to start off the Thanksgiving dinner with Thanksgiving stories, but everyone got impatient after awhile. They all started their own conversations loudly. But soon were interrupted because it was time to say the prayer. Everyone listened but in the middle of the prayer I could hear some people letting out giggles. Once I realized that it was the boy next to me, I squeezed his hand and told him to hush. But then he only giggled some more. After that and the meal, everyone cleaned up and started lazying around. The girls all gathered around to look at magazine sales; while the boys did nothing of importance. The rest of the day was very relaxed, which was good for everyone. Although, I’m hoping it was enough rest for me and my sister who are waking up at the crack of dawn to shop!

Thanksgiving Season!

November 14, 2008 · 5 Comments

Thanksgiving season is finally here! I love Thanksgiving, it’s such a joyful season. Leaves fall, and you can hear them crunch under your feet. The breeze is crisp and the smell in the air is unforgettable. People even get along because everyone knows that this is the season to be thankful. Lots of plans are made for just about everything and I like to be included in them. I like to help out with cooking food or watching the kids and trying to keep them quiet. Although, the thing I look forward to the most is sitting at the long dinner table with family.  Just being able to eat delicious food and see how loud you can talk over everyone.  But the part of the season I don’t appreciate is the clean up.

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite season because I get to spend time with my family. And even more time with the After Thanksgiving Day Sale! There’s no feeling like the one that makes you get up at three in the morning just to go stand in line for some sort of electronic or something. But I like it cause my mom buys me coffee and breakfast. I also like being able to beat someone to that one item that everyone races to. It’s a very fun day for me. I’ve probably been participating in the ‘after thanksgiving day sale’ for as long as I can remember. And I always try to recrute people to come with me but they never end up doing it. I can’t imagine why. So yes, Thanksgiving is wonderful and I love it. =)

Metaphysical Poem

November 1, 2008 · 2 Comments

When I walk in the corn field,

I can feel the pressure of the sun,

So then my heart yields,

And the world I walk through beats down on me like a drum.

Sometimes I can feel the breeze,

And since it is not harsh,

I begin once more to feel my knees,

But I find myself in a marsh.

Instead of loving a field,

I’m  in love with a wet land,

And all I do is sink and yield,

No longer being on the rock, I am in sand.

What can pull me out,

Can I remember the place where I was safe,

Yes! And I begin to lose my doubt,

Then remember who can bring me back to where I am safe.

The one who leads me through the field,

Who gives me His hand so we can walk together,

And the only one to whom I yield,

The one who I can walk with, forever.
